Short Description:
\n<\/span>Canadian financial system is designed to fit the mainstream population\u2019s needs based on their socio-economic situation. Average Canadians start their career in their 20\u2019s and work for 30-40 years. Borrowing is deeply rooted in almost every sector of financial undertakings. On the other hand, most Nepalese immigrants start their careers in their late 30\u2019s or 40\u2019s. Moreover, the personal finance of Nepalese-Canadian is unique due to their culture, lifestyle, and mindset. This presentation will unfold why we should look differently at our finances such as budgeting, emergency fund, mortgages, saving\/investing goal, and retirement goals.<\/span><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Speaker’s Bio:
\n<\/span>Dr. Janak Acharya was born and raised in Baglung, Nepal. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta. Although he practices as an Electrical Engineer, he has delivered a number of talks about personal finance in the past to bring awareness to the community. He believes that one doesn\u2019t need to be an expert to keep their financial health in check like one doesn\u2019t need to be a doctor to stay physically healthy.<\/span><\/h3>\n


\nHe lives in Edmonton. He is a Life Member of NECASE. He has volunteered in many capacities in society in the last 15 years. Currently, he is a committee member in the Edmonton Chautari.
