Presentation Title: NRNA After Eighteen Years
Speaker:
Mr. Naresh Koirala
Koirala is a geotechnical consultant in Vancouver, Canada
Date/Time: April 22, 2022 (7:30 PM MST) [UPDATED]
Short Description:
This presentation looks at NRNA from its beginning in 2013 to the present. It critically examines its performance against the Mission Statement embodied in its constitution. It argues that the capacity of NRNs to contribute to Nepal’s socio-economic development remains grossly underutilized. The lack of government support for NRNA initiatives and NRNA leadership’s reluctance to assert the organization’s strength in its dealing with the government has compromised NRNA’s effectiveness. The acquiescence of NRNA to the intrusion of political parties in the election of its leadership is a growing problem. It is time for NRNA to review its performance over the years and make critical structural changes to realize its mission. Some of such changes are recommended.
