Professional Mentorship
Dear Community Members in and around Edmonton Area,
It gives us great pleasure to announce the Professional Mentorship Committee. It is well known and discussed that the Nepalese diaspora in and around Edmonton has been continuously growing in the recent years. Most of the Nepalese immigrants who have moved to Edmonton have settled in their profession of interest. At the same time, some emerging members are looking for a pathway to enter the job market in their field of interest. Similarly, many of the youths in our community are at a stage where they are planning to enter the workforce or are examining their options in the pursuit of technical training or postsecondary education.
The Professional Mentorship Committee aims to develop a framework for an appropriate mentorship program to find ways to overcome these obstacles and help mentees enter in their field of interest. Secondly, this program would also help those individuals who are currently on a job and are seeking further growth in their professional career to network and obtain feedback on their growth strategies. The mentorship program would also help young members to obtain feedback and guidance from mentors and other role models in the Community.
The committee will seek your advice, develop a pilot mentorship project, evaluate its success, make any necessary improvements and expand the program to the greater community. We look forward to interacting with you.
